Early Years
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Greg showed design skills at a young age when he built his first LEGO set. In grade school he for fun he designed unique aircraft carriers and train cars with living space typically found in houses.
In high school he finally found an outlet for his architectural creativity at the drafting board.
Education
Greg holds a Masters of Architecture and a Bachelors of Environmental design with an Architecture Emphasis from the University of Colorado. He also holds an Associate of Applied Science in Architectural Technonlgy from Arapahoe Community College.
He began his professional career with RNL Design as an architectural intern.
Going Professional
In his seven years at RNL Design he had a great impact and was afforded many opportunities. As a designer he was involved in many well-known Denver projects such as the Coors-Molson Corporate Office, Spire, One Steamboat Place, Golden Public Works Maintenance Facility. He worked on many project types including corporate, mixed-use, transportation, masterplan, banks and, government.
At RNL Design Greg developed his belief that the best designs are a product of the project context (time and place) and client visions.
License
After leaving RNL, Greg joined the creative team at Visioneering Studios, a nationally-recognized Church architecture firm. He was instrumental as a project manager and designer; bringing client ideas together into five- to ten-year visions for church campuses across the nation.
Shortly after joining the Visioneering team, Greg became a licensed architect. Once this goal was accomplished he began to have big ideas about starting his own architecture practice, something he had dreamed about throughout college.
GMH By Design
In 2010 Greg and his wife Sherri founded GMH By Design. The intent has always been to focus on three project types: residential, commercial, and institutional. GMH By Design has been very successful not only in designing for these types of projects but also in helping get them permitted and built.
Greg's organizational skills, commitment to great design, and professionalism have influenced his design projects and given them true power and meaning.
